Sugar Facts

Shelf Life:

Unlike sugar cubes decorated with royal icing, there is no expiration date to worry about with Sugars by Sharon!   Store unused sugar in a dry, dark cabinet or drawer and use at your leisure.  These sugar cubes, when properly stored, will last indefinitely as sugar does not support microbial growth.  Storing your sugar away from light will help to keep it from fading and preserve the color. 

Never store sugar in the refrigerator!!

Ingredients: 

Sugars by Sharon are made from baker's grade sugar.  A minimal amount of water and food coloring are added, making this product 99.9% sugar.  The manufacturer states the ratio of color to sugar is approximately 1 teaspoon food coloring to 8 pounds of sugar. 

Dissolves Completely:

Unlike sugar products that use icing  for decoration, these sugars completely dissolve in hot or cold liquid, leaving no frothy or oily residue floating atop your beverage.  They even dissolve in champagne! 

Sugar Colors: 

All sugars are hand-made and dyes hand-mixed.  The colors displayed on this website are a very good representation of the sugar but not an exact match as the sugar does have natural variations.  We do our best to show the colors available, however video card and monitor settings can distort the colors that appear on different monitors.  If color is imperative to be an exact match, we suggest you purchase a small Petite Pak first to sample the color or send us a  color swatch and we will confirm the color prior to your purchase.

Sugar Measurements:

Our sugar measurement chart will provide you with the approximate length x width of each sugar design.  Please note that all measurements are approximate and rounded to the nearest 1/4" for the charts simplicity and ease of use.  Simply ask should you require anything further regarding the size of a specific sugar.

Samples:

If an exact color match is necessary for your planned event, such as a wedding,  you can purchase a  4 ounce sample of sugar at a cost of $14.00 plus shipping.   This service is only available to brides, wedding planners, caterers and hostesses  who are purchasing at least the 16 ounce minimum  of Loose Sugar. 

Planning ahead is essential as your sugar sample is especially made to your specifications and will take 8 weeks to receive from the date you place your order.   Simply contact us to discuss your needs and determine if a sample is required. 

Should a sample be necessary, you will be asked to provide a swatch of fabric or ribbon in the color you are trying to match and payment for the sample.  We will then order and ship a sugar sample to you of the closest sugar  color  that best matches your swatch.
